St. Patrick's Day drink recipes from Tipsy Bartender for 2016

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  If it's a drinking holiday, then it's time for the appropriate drink recipes from Tipsy Bartender, beginning with this year's Irish Fishbowl.

Nothing says St Patrick's day fun like this IRISH FISHBOWL.
...
IRISH FISHBOWL
Green Apples
Melon Balls
4 Leaf Clover Cookie Cutter
6 oz. (180ml) Jameson Irish Whiskey
4 oz. (120ml) Apple Juice
4 oz. (120ml) Sour Apple Pucker
4 oz. (120ml) Midori Melon Liqueur
2 Green Apple Sodas
1 1/2 oz. (45ml) Blue Curacao
Top with Apple Juice
Welcome back, Sophia!

Follow over the jump for two recipes that I missed last year, but didn't include in a follow-up like 2014.

Working backwards in time, the next one is the Irish Trash Can, the recipe for which I already used to illustrate this entry.

Try this crazy colorful green drink that is super loaded with booze...The IRISH TRASH CAN. We made this a long time ago, it was time for a reboot.
...
IRISH TRASH CAN
1 oz. (30ml) Blue Curacao
1/2 oz. (15ml) Vodka
1/2 oz. (15ml) Rum
1/2 oz. (15ml) Gin
1/2 oz. (15ml) Triple Sec
1/2 oz. (15ml) Peach Schnapps
Those stories are right up there with the ones in "Kitchen Confidential." I asked my brother-in-law, who is a chef, about them, and he says Anthony Bourdain was absolutely telling the truth.  In that case, I'll believe Skyy about how bartenders behave.

Finally, here are Irish Car Bomb Brownies with Whiskey Whipped Cream.

Watch as a real chef infuses brownies and whipped with Irish Whiskey, Baileys Irish Cream and Guinness; the ingredients for an Irish Car Bomb Shot!
...
IRISH CAR BOMB BROWNIES WITH WHISKEY WHIPPED CREAM
3 1/2 ounces semi sweet chocolate
4 oz unsalted butter, browned
4 eggs, at room temp
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (I used Valrhona)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup all purpose flour
3 oz Guinness
1 tablespoon Bailey's
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon Jameson
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350F. Sift together the flour and cocoa powder. Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a bowl over boiling water. In a small pan over medium heat, melt the butter until it just turns golden brown. Pour the brown butter into the bowl of chocolate, scraping the pan to get the brown bits (this prevents it from overcooking), then add the Guiness, Bailey's, and 1 tablespoon of Jameson. Beat together the eggs and sugar until thick and shiny (2 minutes). Continue beating on low while adding flour mixture and wet ingredients alternatively. Do not over mix. Fold in the chips. Pour into a buttered and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, then sprinkle about 2 oz of Jameson over the brownies. Continue baking for another 5 minutes and take the brownies out of the oven. If you want them really boozy, while the brownies are still hot, sprinkle another 2 oz of Jameson over them. Serve the brownies with Whiskey Whipped Cream.

WHISKEY WHIPPED CREAM
1 cup heavy whipping cream, very cold
1 tablespoon sugar
1 oz whiskey (or a little more if you like)
Whip together the cream and sugar until very thick, but not holding its shape yet. Add the whiskey, and continue beating until soft peaks form. Enjoy!
One of these years, I'll get around to posting the Irish Car Bomb shot recipe itself.  In the meantime, drink responsibly!

    1. My father was both an Irishman and a John Wayne fan. I'm sure he liked that movie, but don't recall him either watching it when it was on television or talking about it. He preferred Wayne's westerns.
