I told my readers to "Stay tuned for the final installment of this series tomorrow as I cover the Fantasy and Adventure TV series nominees for the Sunday entertainment feature" to close 'From' and 'The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon' lead horror series nominations at the Saturn Awards. Without any further ado, here are the nominees in those categories.
Best Fantasy Television Series:House of the Dragon leads Best Fantasy Television Series nominees with three nominations while the rest of the nominees have only this one nomination. It's also an Emmy winner and current Golden Globe nominee, so in the absence of a Wednesday to vote for, I'm voting for it. Unless there is a surge for another nominee, so will a plurality of the rest of the electorate. Sigh.
Avatar: The Last Airbender
For All Mankind
House of the Dragon
Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power
Percy Jackson and the Olympians
The Spiderwick Chronicles
Follow over the jump for a category that includes a nominee that examines kaiju, the same subject as nominees for fantasy and international films.
Best Adventure Television Series:Monarch: Legacy of Monsters leads this category with three nominations, followed by La Brea with two (the second is for home entertainment), while the rest have only this one. While I wouldn't be surprised if Monarch: Legacy of Monsters wins, Shogun is a multiple Emmy winner, so I'm voting for it.
La Brea
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Reacher
Shogun
Sugar
Shogun is also a Grammy nominee, so I'm embedding Main Title (Shogun) by Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross, and Nick Chuba.
This is the only television score nominated and it will probably lose to Hans Zimmer's for Dune: Part Two.
I may or may not post an entry about the home entertainment nominees, but I'm definitely posting my votes on National Science Fiction Day next month. Now off to cast my votes!
