March forth with Pacific Crest at the 2019 Rose Parade for Marching Music Day!

Happy Marching Music Day!  I am going to be a good environmentalist and recycle an updated version of March Forth with Santa Clara Vanguard at the 2017 Rose Parade on Marching Music Day!  That means I am posting an update on The marching bands and drum corps marching in the 2019 Rose Parade by featuring the performance of Pacific Crest as it turned the corner and then marched down Colorado Boulevard.

I begin with Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps - 2019 Pasadena Rose Parade from Music 213.

From Diamond Bar, California. Celebrating 25 years of existence, Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps performing at the 130th Annual Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade on Tuesday, January 1, 2019.
A little down the street, Music Amenities caught the performance up close from the other side as the corps continued marching.

It's a shame the video ended just as the corps started playing "California Dreaming."  Fortunately, Music Amenities also recorded Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps marching down Main Street USA at Disneyland in which the corps plays the song in its entirety.

Hey, at least it's a parade!

I'm done posting videos of the one drum corps that marched in the Rose Parade this year.  Unfortunately, it appears there will be no drum corps marching in next year's parade.  Darn.

Follow over the jump for two videos of another group that plays just brass and percussion that marched in the Rose Parade, but is not a drum corps, The Ohio State Marching Band.

The OSU Marching Band turned the corner impressively in Music 213's video of them at the Rose Parade.

I heard about the OSU Band's corner turns more than 40 years ago, when I marched in the UCLA Band, but I'd never seen them do it until now.  It's textbook.

The precision marching continued in the band's Rose Bowl Halftime.

Since "Bohemian Rhapsody" just won four Oscars, I couldn't resist.

That's it for Marching Music Day.  Stay tuned for a post about Paczki Day AKA Fat Tuesday.
