So what is the NaBloPoMo theme of the month? That's from the website. Here's what the email said.PERSPECTIVE
You've probably heard of VOTY -- Voices of the Year -- but have you been acquainted yet with the brand new PhOTY: Photo of the Year? This year at the annual BlogHer conference in San Jose, the best photos of the year will be honoured within five categories: street life/slice of life, faces/friends/family, food/craft/things I made, nature: big and small, and selfie.
So we've lined up a theme that will help you take that perfect shot to submit to PhOTY. This month, we're going to not only express our own perspective, but we're going to pause to consider someone else's. We're going to look at the world from a different angle. We're going to zoom in close and pull back to look at things panoramically.
In other words, we're going to capture images with words, and we're going to provide images for those moments that words cannot express.
Along the way, we've lined up some amazing photography tutorials for you to ensure that you pair great images with your posts. We'll be looking at how to get the most from sites such as Instagram, and how to get the types of shots you covet. It doesn't matter if you have a fancy DSLR camera or if you take your pictures -- like me -- with your phone. There will be plenty of tips to help you gain a new perspective.
February's NaBloPoMo theme could be about gaining a new perspective on your words. You can try looking at blog themes that keep bubbling up from a new angle. Or you can consider someone else's point of view. We’ll have prompts to help you turn your world upside down and examine it in a new way.I like the email version better.
Or you can go for a new perspective with images. To celebrate the addition of a new Photos of the Year to this year’s Voices of the Year, we’re bringing you tutorials to help you take better photographs. And no, you won't need a fancy camera to participate – they’re tips anyone can use.
I'm not a photoblogger, as I'm not a photographer. That written, I like images, especially moving ones. I also like to examine how other bloggers see things. In fact, I have more than a week's worth of material saved up from previous months about The Archdruid, Kunstler, Nebris, The Hipcrime Vocab, Julie Bass and others that I didn't get around to posting. This month's theme looks like a good excuse to do that.
Sign up for February's NaBloPoMo and show us the way you view the world.Oh, I have, I do, and I will.
