80% of school shooters tell someone about their plans. But too often, people think they’re “just joking.” Always take threats of violence seriously. Watch and share our new PSA.The comedians are funny people. The threats they are repeating definitely are not funny at all. Here's to their star power getting the message across.
Follow over the jump for the rest of the nominees, which are selling products, not just ideas.
I'm continuing with two ads for Apple, starting with iPhone 15 | Camera | Album Cover | Apple.
On iPhone 15 you can turn your photos into portraits after you take the shot. And for even more control, you can shift the focus between subjects. That's actually funny, but it makes me wonder if the phone could get all three of them in focus.
The next Apple ad is selling feelings even more than the featured products, the iPhone 15 and MacBook Air. It even says so in its title, Fuzzy Feelings | Apple Holiday Film.
Creativity has the power to change the way we see each other, and the world. Sometimes, seeing things through a new lens can make all the difference. If this category were up to the viewers, this commercial might just win, as it has 16 million views on YouTube. Wow! Merry Christmas.
You make the holidays.
Stop-motion was shot on iPhone 15 Pro Max and edited on MacBook Air.

Moving on to the next nominee, I'm sharing Best Friends Full Length - Uber One | Uber Eats.
I'm returning to Emmy nominees and winners at the Super Bowl — commercials and halftime show to revisit a forecast.
Did you know that when you watch (or watched, depending on when you read this entry) today's Super Bowl, you'll probably see several Emmy nominees and probably an Emmy winner or two? You will, because you did last year and several of the years before that. That's thanks to the commercials and halftime show, which has been a repeat nominee going back as far as Beyoncé's Super Bowl XLVII halftime show, which won Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Special in 2013.As I foretold, that has come true, at least the nominations part. In addition to this commercial and the next, The Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show Starring Usher has three nominations for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), Outstanding Lighting Design / Lighting Direction for a Variety Special, and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control for a Special. I'll get to those later. In the meantime, watch State Farm Commercial | Arnold Schwarzenegger Super Bowl Commercial 2024 | Best Commercials.
Will Arnold finally nail the slogan? See how the script changes 2.11.24.HAHAHAHA! Humor and star power in service of a brand message! Before I started writing this entry, I would have said this was the favorite, but I'm not so sure now. I would vote for Just Joking by Sandy Hook Promise, but I'm not a member of the Television Academy and I think a plurality of them will vote for Fuzzy Feelings.
Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
Now for the other nominee that is a Super Bowl commercial and the final nominee today, “Michael CeraVe” I CeraVe Super Bowl (Long Form).
Just to clear things up once and for all… CeraVe is developed with Dermatologists. Not Michael Cera. That's funny, has star power, and sells the product, too. Also, the 30-second version has 1.5 million views. That makes it a contender, but it's not my favorite. On the other hand, it's the only nominee I could find with a Twitter/X image that promotes its nomination.
That might not be enough to push it into first, but it definitely shows that its creators believe in their nominee. That helps.
That's it for today's installment. Stay tuned for more Emmy nominee coverage.
