Broken Peach performs 'Thriller' for Halloween

Happy Halloween! This year's featured song is Broken Peach - Thriller (Halloween Special).

Our new single, out now...

"Thriller" is a song by Michael Jackson. It was released by Epic Records on November 11, 1983, in the UK and on January 23, 1984, in the US, as the seventh and final single from his sixth album of the same name. "Thriller" is a disco song featuring a synthesizer bassline, lyrics, and sound effects evoking horror films. It includes a spoken-word sequence performed by the horror actor Vincent Price. It was produced by Quincy Jones and written by Rod Temperton, who wanted to write a theatrical song to suit Jackson's love of film.

"Du Hast" is a song by German metal band Rammstein. It was released as the second single from their second album Sehnsucht (1997). It has appeared on numerous soundtracks for films, most notably The Matrix: Music from the Motion Picture, How High, and the home video CKY2K. It is featured in the music video games Guitar Hero 5 and Rock Band 3. The guitar riff is similar to Ministry's "Just One Fix". The music was written by keyboardist Flake and guitarist Richard Kruspe. The intro section and the verses were a combination of a synth sequence by Flake and a guitar riff by Kruspe, and the chorus was written around a chord sequence by Flake.

"Somebody's Watching Me" is the debut single written, co-produced, and performed by American singer Rockwell, released by Motown in December 1983. Serving as the lead single from Rockwell's debut studio album of the same name (1984), it features uncredited guest vocals by Michael Jackson, additional backing vocals by Jermaine Jackson, and co-production from Curtis Anthony Nolan.
I had been wishing Broken Peach would redo "Thriller" for Halloween since 2017 as I wrote in 2019.
Of course, the ultimate Michael Jackson song for Halloween is "Thriller," which Broken Peach also sings...Two years ago, I left [this] request in a comment on this video: "I have a suggestion for you all. Next Halloween, dress up like zombies and sing 'Thriller' again."
It only took nine years, but it finally happened.

Broken Peach also donned their skull makeup for a series of songs this spring that they called "Old Skull" (Old School). Follow over the jump.

First, Broken Peach - Do You Love Me (Old Skull).

“Old Skull” is our twisted tribute to the roots. A vintage-inspired EP where classic sounds meet our signature skull-faced attitude, blending rock & roll, soul, and punk into something both nostalgic and unapologetically new.

Old school spirit, broken into pieces and rebuilt our way.
...
From the smoky soul of the '60s to the raw energy of punk rock, this mashup brings together two timeless anthems that changed music forever.

“Do You Love Me”, written by Berry Gordy Jr., was originally recorded by The Contours in 1962 and born out of the vibrant Motown scene — a song full of rhythm, attitude, and pure dancefloor magic. Its irresistible groove quickly turned it into a classic, later revived for new generations through films and pop culture.

On the other side, “Hey! Ho! Let’s go!” — better known as “Blitzkrieg Bop”, written by the Ramones (Dee Dee Ramone, Joey Ramone & Tommy Ramone) and released in 1976 — exploded onto the scene redefining rock with its simplicity, speed, and rebellious spirit. It became one of the most iconic punk tracks of all time, a shout-along anthem that still echoes in clubs and stadiums worldwide.

Two different eras. Two completely different vibes. One unexpected connection.

This is Broken Peach’s take on what happens when soul meets punk.

Do you love it? Hey! Ho! Let’s go!
Next, Broken Peach - Burning Love (Old Skull).

Four legendary sounds. Four different attitudes. One explosive mashup.

“Burning Love”, written by Dennis Linde and immortalized by Elvis Presley in 1972, brought fire, passion, and pure rock & roll swagger at its peak.

“Drive My Car”, written by Lennon/McCartney and released by The Beatles in 1965, delivered groove, wit, and that unmistakable British cool that redefined pop music forever.

“Who Are You”, written by Pete Townshend for The Who in 1978, added introspection and power, blending raw emotion with one of the most iconic synth-driven rock sounds of its time.

And then comes the punch: “Tick Tick Boom”, written by The Hives (Pelle Almqvist & Nicholaus Arson), a modern garage rock explosion fueled by attitude, urgency, and that unforgettable riff that hits like a warning siren.

Different decades. Different styles. Same energy.

This is Broken Peach turning rock history into a ticking time bomb.
Are you ready? Tick… tick… BOOM.
The third song in the series is Broken Peach - Let's Twist Again (Old Skull).

Get ready to travel back to the golden age of dancefloor anthems, where rhythm ruled and every song came with a move.

“Let's Twist Again”, written by Kal Mann and Dave Appell and made famous by Chubby Checker in 1961, captured the spirit of an entire generation obsessed with the twist craze. It wasn’t just a song — it was an invitation to relive the joy, the energy, and the freedom of rock & roll’s early days.

Meanwhile, “Barbara Ann”, written by Fred Fassert and later popularized by The Beach Boys in 1965, brought a sun-soaked, feel-good harmony that became instantly unforgettable. With its playful vocals and carefree vibe, it remains one of the most iconic sing-along tracks of the era.

Two classics. Two moods. One dancefloor.

This is Broken Peach blending twist and harmony into a fresh, high-energy mashup.

Let’s twist again… like we did with Barbara Ann.
That was fun.

I close with Halloween Cocktail “The Thriller” by Cocktails & Dreams with ZACK PROHASKA.

Drink responsibly.

Halloween may have arrived and October is ending, but I'm extending spooky season one at least more day with the highlights of tonight's holiday episode of Saturday Night Live as the Sunday entertainment feature for Day of the Dead. Stay tuned.
