Kids spend part of their time laughing, bouncing and playing games and part of their time exploring their inner Rembrandts. They'll also have lunch, snacks and experience other awesome activities. This camp promises to be a blast. All Pump It Up art projects will have an Earth Day theme. The camp is targetted for 4 - 12 year olds. Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Farmington Hills, Michigan Earth Day or Green Living Event: Earth Day Celebration and Nature Discovery Trail Grand Opening

At 5:15 p.m., the Nature Center will be presented with a theater sound system and a flat screen TV from Panasonic, and at 5:45 p.m. there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Nature Trail. City Council members and other local officials will be in attendance at this special event designed to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors. Nature Center staff will partner with Peace, Love, and Planet to offer activities including archeological digs, rock painting, face painting, marshmallows roasted over the campfire, and more. The Commission for Energy and Environmental Sustainability will host exhibitors with displays about saving energy, reducing your impact on the environment, and saving money through energy rebates from DTE Energy and Consumers Energy. Participants can enter to win a free Home Energy Audit from Ecotelligent Homes of Farmington Hills. Dinner from Johnny Pomodoro’s, offered for $5. SOCRRA is celebrating Earth Day with a weeklong celebration by offering tours of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF). Tours last about 30 minutes and consist of recycling displays in the Education Center and a walk through the MRF to see how recyclables are sorted and baled. The Forestry Division conducts an annual tree-planting ceremony with the Mayor presiding and often a local scouting or youth group in attendance. Different sites are selected each year for the Arbor Day tree; Borden, Spencer, and Avondale Parks, and City Hall grounds have all been chosen in the past.I'm not sure about this one, as I have doubts about the educational value. My students would be better off going to the Earth Fest in Rochester proper. Speaking of which...

The MI Green team will host the MI Earth Day Fest on Third & Water Streets with more than 150 exhibits and free entertainment for all ages. Admission and parking are free.The MI Green Team have a lot more information at their page for the event, including their blurb promoting the festival.
The MI Earth Day Fest is one of the largest Earth Day gatherings on the planet. This high-profile community event celebrates the efforts of local businesses and community organizations to Make Every Day Earth Day.They also embedded the following video.

For more information, call 313-423-4552 or email rp967@chrysler.com.This is on the other side of Wayne County. If any of you live near Trenton and have e-waste to recycle, I encourage you to do so. As for my students, I have my doubts about the educational value of this. They'd be better off taking the guided tour of SOCCRA.
