Beyond The Trailer and WatchMojo look at the top movies and TV shows of 2022

I'm leaving science for entertainment with an updated and expanded version of last year's The best TV series of 2021 according to WatchMojo and IGN by adding movies to television, beginning with Grace Randolph of Beyond The Trailer listing her Top Ten Best Movies of 2022.

Top Ten Best Movies of 2022 today! Beyond The Trailer host Grace Randolph gives a review of her Top Ten Movies of 2022 including a breakdown as to why each one made the cut! Find out where The Woman King, Puss in Boots 2 The Last Wish, Glass Onion A Knives Out Mystery, Nope, She Said, Black Panther Wakanda Forever, Top Gun Maverick, The Batman, The Black Phone and Avatar 2 The Way of Water land on this list!
Not a bad top ten. Now, how many of them are on WatchMojo's Top 10 Best Movies of 2022 and which movies make its list that didn't make Grace's?

2022 was an incredible year for film! For this list, we’ll be looking at feature films that captured the zeitgeist in 2022, standing out as the year’s best examples of pure cinema. Our countdown includes “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “Top Gun: Maverick”, and more!
I'm not surprised that "Banshees of Inisherin" "The Fablemans," "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio," "RRR," and "Everything Everywhere All at Once" beat out "She Said," "Puss in Boots 2: The Last Wish," "The Black Phone," "Nope," and "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery." WatchMojo gave "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" an honorable mention, while Grace justified her decision in a pinned comment to the video: "While I certainly respect Everything Everywhere All At Once, I didn't love it myself. So while I voted for it for Best Picture for Critics Choice, it's not on my list here." Fair enough.

Follow over the jump for Grace's and WatchMojo's picks for the year's top TV shows.

Once again, Grace's videos have the better preview images, so I'm placing them ahead of WatchMojo's. Here's Top Ten Best Series of 2022 - Streaming Shows - Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix, AppleTV, Prime Video.

Top Ten Best Streaming Shows of 2022 today! Beyond The Trailer host Grace Randolph gives a review of her next Top Ten Series of 2022 including a breakdown as to why each one made the cut! Find out where The Sandman, Pachinko, Harley Quinn Season 3, Pam & Tommy, Moon Knight, The Gilded Age, Black Bird, Barry Season 3, WeCrashed and Julia land on this list! Netflix, Disney Plus, HBO, HBO Max, Amazon Video, Apple TV and Hulu!
That's an interesting set of twenty shows. Again, let's see how many of them appear in WatchMojo's Top 10 Best TV Shows of 2022.

2022 was another terrific year for TV! For this list, we’ll be looking at live action shows that premiered in 2022, as well as ongoing shows that are still going strong. Our countdown includes “Barry” - Season 3, “Severance” - Season 1, “Abbott Elementary” - Seasons 1 & 2.5, “The Bear” - Season 1, and more!
The obvious difference is the appearance of "Abbott Elementary" on this list and its absence on Grace's. While Grace's list is explicitly about streaming shows, that's not enough to justify the exclusion of "Abbott Elementary," both because it also streams on Hulu in addition to being broadcast on ABC and because "Barry," "House of the Dragon," "The Gilded Age,"and "White Lotus" also appear on HBO proper in addition to being streamed on HBO Max. On the other hand, I can understand her not mentioning "The Bear" and making of point of including "WeCrashed" instead of "The Dropout" while justifying her choice. I can also understand why Grace missed "Better Call Saul," winner of four Saturn Awards and WatchMojo's top TV show, didn't make her list. Its new episodes do not stream on any of the services Grace watches.

I'll have more to say about the movies and TV shows on these lists as part of my follow ups on the Saturn Awards and looks ahead to the Critics' Choice Awards and Golden Globes. In the meantime, stay tuned as the retrospectives continue through New Year's Eve.
