Fall back for the end of Daylight Saving Time even though it affects health and increases traffic accidents

I told my readers to "Stay tuned for my annual entry on Daylight Saving Time ending at the end of Bye-bye Beto as O'Rourke drops out.  I've decided to have two of these entries with today's about the effects of changing the clocks and tomorrow's about legislative attempts to stop switching back and forth.

I begin with Good Morning America's Setting clocks back as daylight saving time ends

Dr. Jennifer Ashton speaks on how daylight saving time affects sleep and how best to adjust and improve health habits.
WXYZ in Detroit has more about the health effects of changing the time in How the tradition of Daylight Saving Time can affect your sleep and health.

Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend.  On Sunday we’ll ‘fall back’ which means we set our clocks back by one hour.  Now you may be dreaming of sleeping in, but is that a good idea?  And how can this annual tradition affect our health?
Falling back doesn't just affect sleep habits and cardiovascular health; it also increases traffic accidents, as CBS Philly reports in End Of Daylight Saving Time Brings Increase In Traffic Accidents.

Stephanie Stahl reports.

All of the above are among the reasons why Americans are getting tired of switching back and forth between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time, having decided Daylight Saving Time sucks.  I'll explore what Americans and their lawmakers are doing about that sentiment tomorrow.  Stay tuned.
