In July, The Weather Channel on solar storms displayed the cable outlet's interest in solar flares and other space weather. Yesterday, it posted a video warning its viewers of the effects of Huge Solar Flare Headed to Earth, which is arriving tonight and tomorrow.
On January 7th, the sun experienced an X1.2-class solar flare. As Matt Sampson, explains its one of the most intense class of flares.Enjoy the northern lights, and hope that communications and electrical transmission aren't too badly disrupted.
