Game of Thrones drinking game, drink, and music

I telegraphed the subject of tonight's entertainment entry in the opening of 'Mad Men' drinks from Tipsy Bartender.
Last week, it was the season finale of "The Walking Dead."  Next Sunday it will be "Game of Thrones."
It's "next Sunday," so it's time to mark the season premiere of "Game of Thrones."  I begin with the drinking game illustrated above.  Follow over the jump for a drink recipe inspired by the show to accompany the game as well as the appropriate music.

For the drink, I go to Tipsy Bartender for How to make the Game of Thrones Cocktail.

This drink is based on the popular HBO show...THE GAME OF THRONES! The cocktail is called Fire and Ice, and it's wild! It is at once ice cold and spicy hot from the jalapeno. It's a unique mix...we've never tasted anything quite like it, but it's badass--try it!
...
RECIPE:
=======
1½ parts Basil Hayden's bourbon
¾ parts fresh lime juice
1 slice jalapeno
1 part pomegranate juice
½ part simple syrup
Splash of soda water

1. Muddle lime juice, jalapeno, pomegranate juice and simple syrup in a mixing tin.

2. Add bourbon and shake lightly for five seconds.

3. Strain into a Collins glass, add ice and top with soda water.

4. Garnish with a lime wheel and pomegranate seeds.
To complete tonight's entertainment entry, I present Taylor Davis's cover of the Game of Thrones Theme.

I absolutely love the Game of Thrones series! Hope you like my rendition of the theme and thanks so much for watching and for all your support :)
Taylor Davis has just posted another song from the series, but I plan on saving it for the season finale.  In the meantime, enjoy tonight's season premiere while I work.

  1. Nice game, but there is zero chance of walking away in a straight line if playing.
Too bad Hodor won't be making any appearances this season.

    1. I agree. Anyone playing is going to get completely tanked. As for Hodor, too bad. I'll have to find an updated game for next season.
